- FAQ
Yes! New beginners join every day, and many ask: “Why didn’t I join this earlier?”. Previous experience is unnecessary, and you do not need to be in any particular shape to participate. If you have never done any exercise or have health concerns, we recommend consulting your physician before participating.
Wear comfortable and breathable pants (no shorts or jeans, please) and a t-shirt/top for Capoeira.
Please speak to Cassey about placing an order for a uniform.
It’s essential you arrive early (a minimum of 15 minutes) to familiarize yourself with the students and instructors.
Is there a belt system & how do I progress through it?
Yes. We host our Annual Batizado, where students can receive their first belt and progress through our belt system. Students will be tested for their skills and attendance.
No. Although a partner is not necessary, we highly recommend having a friend join you as we find this helps encourage motivation, and both of you stay focused on achieving your goal (fitness and skill level).
For your first class, the instructor will greet you and show you some basic moves before the start of class. The instructor will then do a group warm-up & stretch and proceed to help you with some basic movements and modified exercises that will allow you to follow along with the rest of the class.
Every class will be a little different, and everyone learns at a different pace, so patience is essential. Some people may have a steep learning curve, but after about one month of consistent training, you will start to get the hang of things.
We recommend you attend all classes in the session; however, that is up to you.
No. Once you register, you have reserved your spot in the course. Since the course usually fills up, by registering, you have taken the spot of another potential student; therefore, we cannot transfer you to another session or offer refunds. You are welcome to transfer your place to a friend or family member.
